I took up golf the spring before my Freshman year in 2018 because my friend said they needed players for the high school team and I felt I was pretty athletic. Turns out I fell in love with the game and made an impact on the team right away. I’ve worked hard year ‘round to get my scoring down to the low 80’s and actually shot a school record 2 under par 34 in a 9 hole school match this fall. I was runner-up to player of the year in my conference this year and my team has qualified for Districts the last two years. My goal is to qualify for State by my senior year.
My teammates are my best friends and we support each other 100% and I’m always trying to help my teammates improve different aspects of their game. I also thrive on the head-to-head competition in matches. It pushes me to do my best. Playing in AJGA tournaments this past summer really improved my game as that is high level competition and I want to be the best.
My goals for next season are to get my scoring consistently into the 70’s, add 20+ yards to my drives, cut my putts per round average under 25, and to make it to state.
