I am an athlete. I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t competing. Growing up, karate, soccer, basketball, and softball kept me busy. Now, it’s golf. I am new to the sport, but what I lack in experience I make for with hard work and perseverance. I played first my first round with the girl's golf team two years ago and shot 68. Unfortunately, that was only for nine holes. Covid canceled the rest of the year, but then in the Spring of 2021, I returned to the game eager to improve. I broke 100 at the state tournament, took lessons, and started practicing. This year, I shot 83 at the state regionals, and I have been consistently in the mid-'80s from 5800 yards or more. My goal is to break 80 this summer and shoot in the 70s my senior year. I have worked hard for my achievements, and I plan on working for many more. For the last 3 years, I have also been working as a waitress while maintaining an above-perfect 4.3 GPA that has me on track for valedictorian. I’m applying the same ethic to golf and really enjoying both the practice and the competition.
