My name is Hannah Butzer, i’m 17 years old and my goal is to earn a D1 scholarship. I’ve always had the mindset when growing up to “be better than you think you can be”. I’ve played in many ontario events, this summer I had the most amazing opportunity to play against Division 1 athletes in the woman’s am. It was a 4 day tournament and successfully made the cut to become top 25. I practice from 8am until night time everyday, the course is my happy place, this sport is something I cherish deeply because it not only challenges you but it teaches you life lessons. For instance, one shot at a time and realizing that I can’t go back in time to fix that last shot therefore, I can only keep moving forward and make the rest of my round count. I live in Canada therefore, the weather here is cold at the moment, that does not stop me from training. everyday after school I go to the gym and do off season golf training while being on top of my studies, and indoor golf training. I’ve played hockey for 12 years, teamwork and leadership is a huge component to characteristics that I take seriously.
