Personal Statement

I am currently a 16-year-old junior with an 87.1% average (3.9 GPA). Outside of golf and school, I am also a ballet dancer. Training for golf and dance helps me become the most diverse athlete I can be. I am very passionate about both golf and dance, but I feel I can create a future through golf. I am a person with a lot of heart and a positive attitude. Everyday I want to become a better version of myself, whether that is through golf, school, friends, family, or anything else. I am also a “book smart” person. I love learning about new concepts. In Ottawa, I am on the regional junior golf development team for the Ottawa Valley Golf Association. I am starting my fourth year on the team. Being in a team atmosphere and knowing that I have support from the other members on the team, helps me learn what college golf will be like.

My summer season has now finished.  I believe I have continued to have a successful season.  I have won four tournaments, had 10 top 10s, and placed top 20 in three others.  Highlights so far have been winning Golf Ontario’s Juvenile (U17) Girls Championship and playing in the 75th U.S. Girls' Junior Championship and Canadian Junior Girls Championship in July.  I have shot five (individual) tournament rounds under par (see red numbers below) this year and have even had an ace in tournament play!  I am most proud of my ability to play 6 tournaments in 5 weeks through July and early August.  It was a tough and tiring road at times, but I believe my mental strength carried me through some of the more difficult times to be able to perform at my best.  I am looking forward to Golf Ontario’s Provincial Super Camp & Tour Championship in a few weeks and my high school season starting.

Thank you to everybody who has followed my path over the past 1.5 years. I am now verbally committed to Longwood University in Virginia. I am so excited to become a Lancer!

  • Finished on the podium with a Bronze medal after shooting 73/71 (+2 total) for the two round championship. My ball striking tee to green was very good and I was happy with the way I played. A number of birdie opportunities were not converted preventing me from scoring even lower. Tournament site: https://smartgolf.online/current_tournament/standings?division_id=591

  • Finished my Golf Ontario season with a T7 placing at this event. Happy with the way I played over the three days on the tough Black Bear Ridge golf course. With lots of great competition in the field, I was able to score well and improve on my game over each round. With my T7 placing, I wrapped up second overall in the season long Junior Golf Pathway order of merit race. This earned fully exempt status on the AJGA for the 2025 season. I then went -5 over the final 10 holes to win by 4. Tournament results: https://www.golfgenius.com/pages/10231072018866948456
  • Camp/Event
  • 2024 Ontario Summer Games
  • 8/02/24 to 8/04/24
  • This event was my sixth in four and a half weeks. I struggled in rounds 1 and 2 of the tournament and my scores (86/80) reflected this. However, in my final round, I scored 7 birdies to shoot a 4 under 69 and finished T6 (28 player field). This was also a team competition and I am happy to say that our team won GOLD! • Camp/Event
  • 2024 Ontario Junior (U19) Girls Match Play Championship
  • 7/29/24 to 7/31/24
  • In the 30 player field, I was ranked number 1 and had a bye for the first round. I played well in the round of 16 and won 5&4. In my quarter final match, I also played consistent golf winning 3&1. That was all on the second day of competition. On the final day, I had the semi finals, which I won 4&3. I played very well in the finals, eventually finishing second. This finals took 21 holes to complete. Tournament details: https://www.golfgenius.com/pages/10231054345378515158
  • Camp/Event
  • 2024 Canadian Junior Girls Championship
  • 7/22/24 to 7/25/24
  • This was my fourth tournament in four weeks. I had a great experience at Golf Canada's national junior girls championship. The staff at Marine Drive Golf Club were amazing and I thank them for their great hospitality. The golf course was tight and narrow and was sometimes difficult to manage. My round 2 and 3 scores were indicative of that. Very happy with my fourth round to help me move up the standings a bit. I shot 79/82/81/75 on the par 72 course finishing T55. • Camp/Event
  • 2024 U.S. Girls' Junior Championship
  • 7/15/24 to 7/20/24
  • This was an amazing experience. I shot 78/73 (+9) in the stroke play portion and unfortunately missed the cut. This was the longest course in tournament golf I have ever played (6372 yards). I had 5 birdies, 20 pars, 8 bogies, and 3 doubles. Putting was a strength and weakness this week; I know that I need to improve my green reading and apply the appropriate pace to putts moving forward. This will be a focus for the rest of my season. Thank you to the USGA for this awesome event! Tournament scoring: https://championships.usga.org/usgirlsjunior/2024/scoring.html

In the final round, I shot 72, which was the best round of the day. Ball striking continued to be good and my driver precision (hitting fairways) was very good. I made 11 birdies over the three days, which led the field. My final score of 220 was my best ever for a three day tournament. • Camp/Event
  • 2024 Junior (U19) Girls Spring Classic
  • 5/19/24 to 5/21/24
  • Finished T18 (U19) and T7 (U17) with a 76/75 (par 73), total 151 (+5). The tournament was unfortunately reduced to 36 holes due to inclement weather in the second round. Statistically, I was T1 for total birdies with 9. I shot -5 over 32/36 holes...however there were 4 holes in my two rounds that cost me a much better score. My ball striking was very good with my long and short irons leaving me with many birdie (and even eagle) opportunities.
  • Camp/Event
  • Golf Canada 2024 NextGen Ontario Championship
  • 5/09/24 to 5/11/24
  • Finished solo 19 (+11) with rounds of 77/74/79 (par 73). This was Golf Canada's second junior event and had a very strong field. After opening with +4, came back with a 1 over 74 to make the cut. Final round played in rainy, wet, and cold conditions. Ball striking was good and my driver distance was very good. I will continue to work on converting birdie putts to help my scoring.
  • Camp/Event
  • OVGA Optimist Junior Spring Classic
  • 5/04/24 to 5/05/24
  • U17 and Overall Girls winner shooting 77/78 over two rounds. Weather was a big factor for front nine of second round with wind and rain. Shot a solid 37 on back nine Sunday to secure the win. Ball striking was very good which allowed me to shoot birdie or par on 26 of the 36 holes.
  • Camp/Event
  • Golf Ontario Junior Players Invitational
  • 3/11/24 to 3/12/24
  • I finished 10th in my first tournament of 2024. This is Golf Ontario's kick off event to the 2024 season and is an invite only event. Many of Ontario's top ranked Junior girl golfers were present. I played my best golf in the tournament in round 3, shooting 74 (+2), carding 4 birdies. I drove the ball well and my ball striking was consistent. I am happy with my first tournament of the season.

  • Camp/Event
  • Golf Quebec Inter-Regional Championship (Team Event)
  • 9/10/23 to 9/10/23
  • I was part of the OVGA team that won this event. It was our region's sixth title and fourth in a row. My partner and I played in a two-person scramble format and shot 70 (2 under) and finished 2nd by 1 stroke. Our results were part of three boys division to make up our team score. Very proud to have been part of the OVGA tradition!

  • Finished T15 with rounds of 74, 81, 75. Started and finished strong, making the cut after two rounds. My middle round was off and I made a few costly mistakes. I was happy with the way I putted through the tournament and my "golf thinking" has been really improving in tournament play.

  • CJGA Polair Golf Canadian Championship
  • 8/07/23 to 8/10/23
  • I had an amazing week! I won this major CJGA tournament shooting 79/76/72/80. All parts of my game were very good. I scored well over the whole tournament going +3 for 65 holes. When I made mistakes, I quickly erased them from my mind and concentrated on making my next shot/decision the best one. The biggest thing I was the most proud of was my approach game. My coach and I have worked on my accuracy inside 100 yards leading up to this event and it paid off!
  • Camp/Event
  • Golf Canada Canadian Junior Girls Championship
  • 7/24/23 to 7/27/23
  • Had an amazing time competing in my first ever Canadian Junior Girls Championship. It was a combined Junior (U19) and Juvenile (U17 championship and I finished in 64th position (U19) and 40th position (U17) respectively. My scores were 81/82/81/78. My primary goal was to make the cut and I did. I was able to play with the best Junior girls in Canada and I learned alot about my game and what I need to do to further improve.
  • Camp/Event
  • Golf Canada NextGen Atlantic Championship
  • 7/18/23 to 7/20/23
  • Finished T4 in my first Golf Canada NextGen event. Shot 84/77/78. Very proud of my accomplishment for this tournament. My strengths this week were my driving and my iron play. I was very accurate in hitting fairways and felt that my iron striking was very good.

  • Camp/Event
  • Ottawa Valley Golf Association U19/U17 Junior City & District Championships
  • 6/10/23 to 6/11/23
  • Won the U17 (Juvenile) Championship! Shot 74/78 (plus 8) to win by two strokes. This score also placed me third for the Overall Girls title (behind two current Sophomores at NCAA Div. 2 and 3 schools). Very proud of my accomplishment this weekend. I had a 5 birdie round on Saturday which is my first. My chipping around the green was a big improvement from my last tournament. And, finally, my driving distance and accuracy added to my success this weekend.
  • Camp/Event
  • CJGA Humber College PGM Quebec Junior Open
  • 5/20/23 to 5/21/23
  • Placed 3rd overall (86/87). Not my best scoring days; it was a very tough course and weather conditions (high winds) at just under 6000 yards for distance. I learned from the two rounds that it is very important to keep focus and keep mishit shots to a minimum in order to save strokes.
  • Camp/Event
  • CJGA Hurricane Series Opener at Silver Brooke Presented by Hometurf
  • 4/15/23 to 4/16/23
  • Placed 2nd overall (84/82). Some of my better stats over the two days are: 247.8 yard driving avg. (290 was my longest); 50% driving accuracy; only 1 three putt over the two days and a 33 putt avg. per day. The stat I am most proud of: an 87.5% make avg. of putts in 3-5 ft. length. I have been really working hard on this aspect of my putting and it seems to have paid off for this tournament.
