I have been playing golf since I was 10 years old. I started golfing as a way to spend time with my family, but it evolved into a passion of mine. I saw around me great golfers that I wanted to be like. I worked hard to improve on my own before joining competitive lessons. Once I started training, I saw tremendous improvements in my game. I joined a few tournaments, just to see where my game was at and I won multiple awards and after knowing that I could achieve great things, I continued to work hard to get my score down. My biggest achievements are within the Drive, Chip and Putt tournament, and the Canadian Optimist Junior Golf competition. At Drive, Chip and Putt, I advanced three years in a row to the second round, and the third year continued on to the third round; the one right before the Augusta National Championship. In the summer of 2019, I qualified from two different districts to play in the International Optimist Junior Golf Tournament. Due to the current COVID-19 measures, I was not able to compete this year, but will be going next year where I hope to place very high as I have a lot of faith in my game.
On the course, I have solid contact and great accuracy as well as a nice soft touch around the greens. I am always open to constructive feedback and continue to strive to become the best player that can be. There is never a time where I am not giving it my all, whether I am training or competing. I never leave the course without knowing that I have worked as hard as I possibly could and left it all out on the course. I have a good ratio of practice and playing. I spend most of my free time at the course working hard to improve my game.
In the classroom, I study very hard for all my subjects, and I never settle for less than my best. I have and continue to maintain a high GPA and plan to do so throughout my post secondary career as well. I have volunteered and continue to do the same at numerous places to not only obtain a great amount of community services hours but also to give back to the community that I am part of.
My goal for college is to obtain academic excellence in a degree that will allow me to have a fulfilling career. I would like to be pushed on the golf course so that my game can reach levels that I have dreamt of. I believe that competing at a collegiate level will give me a fantastic experience that I will forever cherish. I have always imagined myself competing at such a high caliber, and I hope to achieve great success while there.
