My love for golf began at a very young age, when I started hitting golf balls in my grandparents country backyard. Fast-forward 5 years; my parents and I decided I should start taking lessons, and the sport more competitively. At the age of 14, still juggling both soccer and golf at the competitive level, I decided in order to be successful in golf, it needed all of my attention. I love this game of precision and discipline, and am currently looking to play collegiate level golf; while finding a school that suits my goals of academic excellence in pursuing a major in Education.
I have always showed a strong commitment in the activities I am involved in. I have spent the last 3 years working in customer service, constantly improving my communication skills. I have spent many hours volunteering in my community, most notably with the junior golf program within my home course.
Covid-19 hit and created a bit of a road block in my journey. I was able to find my way, by creating my own practice facility, and taking lessons virtually. This allowed me to stay focused on my goals, and continue to improve my game. I am committed to creating a strong and healthy mindset, both on and off the golf course. This allows me to handle challenging situations properly. Learning to have patience has proven very important, and along with patience comes focus. I've spent long days on the course pushing my focus level, making sure I am giving my best effort and continuously challenging myself. I have been told that I am very coachable, and an asset to any team. I continue to work hard on my golf game, so I can proudly represent a college golf team.
In addition to athletic engagement, I am also a dedicated student who understands the importance of a disciplined lifestyle that balances academics and athletics. I proudly hold a 3.8 grade point average within my high school years. I stay involved in the school community, on sports teams, joining clubs, and volunteering whenever I can.
My goal is to be able to compete at a Division 1 level and believe I would be an asset to any college team. I enjoy competing at a high level, and look forward to broadening my learning and experience of the game. I am ready to push myself and keep improving!
