Emily Marcus '16 Recruiting Profile

My name is Emily Marcus. My goals and aspirations in terms of golf is to play collegiately at a school where I will be valued. I have been playing golf for fun for about six years. I started playing competitively my sophomore year of high school. At the beginning of my sophomore year, I decided to join my high school golf team. However, I am different from most recruits because I joined an all boys golf team. My high school does not have a girls team, so I play with the boys. Playing on the men's golf team has caused me to work harder as an individual golfer in order to stay competitive with them. I find it especially rewarding when I play against a boy in a match and win. I also play basketball on the high school team and am a three year letter winner. In school, I am a very good student with a GPA of 3.8. I have also been recently named President of the National Honor Society. I am a member of our school's Interact Club, where we volunteer at many events to help the community.
