Katie Rose Rankin '23 Recruiting Profile

Thank you for reviewing my profile. My name is Katie Rose Rankin and I am an upcoming senior at North Allegheny High School. I played the number one position for our Varsity Girls' team and we won our Section this year.  I placed second in the WPIAL Individual AAA finals with a 74 and recently won the HJGT Tournament at the Penn State Blue Course. I have been on the Varsity team since my freshman year and played number one my sophomore and junior year as well. I continue working with my golf instructor, Adam Morrison and am playing in a variety of Hurricane Tournaments and local PGA Junior section tournaments.

From the time I started playing golf at six years old, my dad taught me to respect the game and each person I have the opportunity to play with on the course.  Every weekend I play with my "golf moms" at Diamond Run Golf Club. Each of these women have taught me how to enhance my game while enjoying the friendship.  One woman even taught me how to hit my three wood better - something my dad did not know that I learned. I used that little piece of information to beat my dad 76-77.  Upon completion of playing with the "moms", I turn around and play another 18 with my teammates and friends.  

I love the game of golf, the people and the competitive spirit in the beautiful environments.
