Andrea Sofía is a highly motivated golfer and student. She has been playing competitively since age 7 (now 17) with a proven and successful track record. Her lowest 18 hole rounds are 72(E) (tournament) and 71(-1) (non-tournament), and her current handicap is 1.2. She is the 2019 Puerto Rico Island Championship winner. During 2018, she was invited to represent Puerto Rico at 2018 Duke of York Young Champions Trophy in Scotland, and the Annika Invitational Latin America, in Argentina. She is also the Champion of the 2017 Florida State Invitational, and a Top 10 finisher at her first AJGA event in 2018. During the past four years, she has earned her spot into the Puerto Rico National Junior Golf Team where she helped to win the Caribbean Amateur Junior Golf Championship all four years. Andrea has been invited and played in the last 4 US Kids World Championships at Pinehurst, NC with a top 20 finish in 2017. She is also the 6 time Champion, and one time runner up, of the US Kids Dorado Beach Local Tour during the 7 season period ending Spring 2017. Andrea Sofía also participated at the 2015 and 2018 European Championship held in Scotland, where she placed 3rd (girls 15-18) and gained entry into the European Van Horn Cup as a member of the International Team. She received the highest score at the 2016 Drive Chip and Putt local qualifier that earned her an invitation to the sub-regional event. During the school golf season that ended in November of 2019, she helped her school team place 2nd at the division A of the Puerto Rico High School Athletic Alliance. For the one ended April 2018, she won the Overall Individual Varsity Championship (boys and girls 7th-12th grade) while been recognized by her school as the golf team MVP.
Andrea has always maintained a 4.0 GPA (4.08 weighted) or higher. She is 3/116 rank in her class, a member of the National Junior Honor Society, part of the Advanced Class Program, and has been part of its Student Board in past years.
