Isabella Sandoval '21 Recruiting Profile

Hello my name is Isabella Sandoval, I am 17 years old and an upcoming senior this Fall 2020 at Colleyville Heritage High School in Colleyville, Texas. I currently play Varsity Golf for the CHHS Golf Team.

I am a dedicated student athlete that has been committed to golf and my team for the past three years. Ever since I can remember I played soccer and believed it to be the sport that I would excel at, until golf. From the moment I picked up a club and swung it, my thoughts were changed, golf made me believe that no matter the size or shape, it is a universal sport for anybody and emphasizes the values of integrity, dedication, and persistence. Hence, the reason I love the sport so much, because of the valuable lessons the game has taught me. Among these, I learned how to mentally challenge myself, let’s face it, golf is hard, and it takes a strong mind to let go of a bad hole or a bad shot, and pick yourself back up again. With that being said, I would be excited to continue playing golf into my college years.

For my future, I plan on becoming my family’s second generation graduate from college, with the hopes of majoring in nursing. My extended family is one that believed that education is of most importance. My grandparents pushed my mother and her siblings to pursue a higher degree since they did not have the opportunity to be educated. My grandparents came to the US to seek better opportunities for them and their children. Which is why I aspire to make them proud by becoming a nurse anesthetist after I graduate college.

Like golf, I intend on going to a college that will teach me the importance of persistence, dedication, and integrity, while mentally challenging me to make my family proud, if golf is going to get me there, I am prepared to work hard and improve until I get there.
