Hello, my name is Taylor Moulton. I live in Vergennes but I really grew up in Burlington and Waitsfield. When I was younger, ski racing was my goal in life. I started when I was 7 and I took a quick liking to it. I took a liking to it because of the sport but mostly because of the people I did it with. I had golfed about 2 times every year between when I was 5 and 10 but when I was 11 my Dad wanted me to get more into it, not just because he loved it but he thought I could too. So that year, with not much other golf training, my parents put me on the PGA Junior League team at Burlington Country Club. After a few weeks, I had already fallen in love with the sport. I had made some friends on the team but it was the sport pulling me in this time, not as much the people. The next year when I was 12, I was eager to join the team again and start playing again. I was putting in more time and more effort than the year before and I was improving fast. By the end of the year, I had played a ton of golf but I still didn't feel like I had played enough. I knew the next year I wanted to play every day, and really invested me and all my time into playing and getting better. And that's what I did! This year I have played golf almost every day during the week and at least one day every weekend. I was more invested in my team and although I didn't have the group of people to play golf with as I did in skiing, my skiing dream quickly turned into a golf dream! At the end of July, my coach told me he had picked me for the Junior league all-stars and that I would be going down to Mass to play in a tournament representing Vermont. When I went there, I had shown up to the practice round as the only girl with 7 other boys I didn't know. I instantly took to all of them. We did make it through the qualifying round, to the finals to go to regionals and although we lost, that wasn't what I took away from it. I took away 7 new friends, something we all love, and an amazing experience! 2 days after we got back from regionals we all played golf again. And the week after that and the one after that. After all the time I have put into golf in the last 3 years there isn't anything else I would want to do than play again, with the people I love playing with but most of all just playing sport I truly really love!
