Personal Statement

I am looking for a college where I can blend my academic goals with my desire to grow as a golfer.  Currently, I am commuting over an hour a day to go to two high schools to further my French studies and global education while continuing to practice golf daily.  I've lowered by scoring average 15+ strokes this year.  My goal is to shoot in the low 70's consistently by next May.  I am not afraid of hard work.  On my team, I am the first one on the range and the last to leave.  I am receptive to coaching.  My dream college coach would be one who helps me improve my skills to see where that takes my game.

  • Just a clarification on how high school golf works in my city. The teams are made up of both boys and girls - not an equal number of each, just whoever posts a good enough score to make the team. On my team, for example, I am the only girl. Most teams do not have any girls, so it is rare to play with another girl. Our matches are 18 holes. The boys compete from the blue tees and the girls play 85% of their yardage. Eight teams competed in the conference tournament. Last year, I was the only girl competing with 49 boys. This year, I was one of six girls competing against 63 boys.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
