Hello,
My name is Delainey Halverson. During the pandemic and after a few broken bones from gymnastics I took up the game of golf and found a real passion for the game. My Oregon High School golf coach is Casey Johnson, and my swing coach is Tim Boegh from GolfTec. Last winter I worked hard to increase my power and worked out to increase strength. My Driving distance has increased significantly. In 2023 my goal is to shoot a round of 75 or better (in terms of score). My golf summer schedule includes more competitive two day tournaments. I excel at the short game and putting. I enjoy a friendly competition with my team and have made many friends at summer golf events.
I Finished the 2022 girls golf season as the number 1 golfer on our Oregon Hight School team. Highlights of the seasons included:
1) Our team won conference. I shot a 78 which helped secure a first team all conference selection for the second year in a row.
2) At sectionals I played with two of the best golfers in the section . I did not play my best front nine. However, on the back tied the eventual state winner with a 38. I was pround of the persaverance I showed that day.
3) Our team placed top three in almost every tournament we played. We won all of our matches but one.
For 2023 my goals:
1) Shoot a round of 75 or less. Even Par would be a bonus.
2) Play in the High School State Tournament with my team in my Junior year.
3) Play in the Wisconsin State Ametuer Tournament in 2023.
I look forward to creating new relationships with coaches and players to find the right combination of academics and athletics to ensure a great college experience.
Delainey Halverson
