Hi! My name is Myah Hammerquist.
I am currently a high school student at Campbell County High School in Gillette, Wyoming. I have been participating in golf since around the age of 5. I started out taking Summer intramural golf lessons through our local Recreation Center summer program, and later moved into summer lessons hosted by a physical therapy business in my town. While in 7th and 8th grade, I took Spring intramural lessons hosted by my school along with the Recreation Center. I more recently have started to take golf much more seriously. I started by joining the Gillette Camels high school golf team my Freshman year, practicing most everyday. During the summer before my Sophomore year, in an effort to better my golfing skills, I started taking private lessons with Cordell Clouston, through a program called Apex Athletic Performance, which is put on by the same physical therapy business as mentioned before. Not only have I started to work much harder at my game, but I have also been studying other golfers and their swings to help me work on my own.
I am a very outgoing person, and I also try to always have a good attitude even when I don't always shoot the shot that I want. I generally have A's & B's in school, and try to keep my grades up so that I can keep playing golf, and also have good academics! I am different from some recruits on NCSA because I am strong in my Christian faith and I'm constantly striving to work on it and do better. I find being a Christian athlete in today's world is very important because being strong in my faith helps me stay focused in all aspects of my life. I look forward to hearing from you, thanks!
