Hi my name is Chloe Sills and I've been doing gymnastics for what feels like my whole life, 13 years of it at least. Gymnastics has taken over my whole life and become who I am. I couldn't picture myself without it. Some things about my gym career; my favorite event is beam. For as long as I can remember I have been a beamer. I have always loved getting to perform the biggest skills on the scariest surface and making it look graceful. My fear factor is gone when it comes to beam and I'm always up to trying new skills, and have worked my way through most of the book. Getting to perform in this sport has changed who I am, this is the toughest sport physically and mentally and it shows. For example it has helped me persevere when I'm injured and humble myself in other sports and school. I have learned how to get over injuries and still achieve my goals. In 2018 broke my elbow twice, needed major surgery and was put out for 2 seasons but I went against doctors beliefs and found that I can gain strength in everything else, tumble with one arm even and was able to compete the last 2-3 meets both years. I didn't let my injury get the best of me, instead I went past it and became a stronger gymnast fighting the mental and physical battle of big injuries. But, without it I wouldn't be as brave and outgoing. My goal has always been college gymnastics. I loved going to the big meets and wanting to be one of those girls some day. I wish to receive a scholarship and show everything I have and become that inspiration for someone else. College has been a topic in my household since my older brother reached middle school. When I discovered college gymnastics that's how I pictured my future. I have stuck my education to my future academic goals including taking college and AP courses, researching my career path requirements and studying dozens of colleges that fit my academic goals. I know I am most shaped as a person in high school and college so I want to become successful and proud of what I achieve. I have a goal in mind and I won't stop until I get there. I wouldn't be this far without my coaches and parents, I have learned to respect them and do what I know is best in their eyes. I am Chloe Sills and this is what I can show you I have.
