Personal Statement
My name is Erin Pinder and I’m an elite / level 10 gymnast. I’ve been doing gymnastics from the age of 4 and haven’t looked back. I am currently training at Carolina Elite Gymnastics Academy which is in Moorehead North Carolina while staying with a host family to achieve my dreams of being a collegiate gymnast.
I am extremely dedicated to my academics and gymnastics as I have been able to balance both while studying virtually for my classes which are held in Barbados. I am passionate about competing collegiate gymnastics as it has always been a dream for me. I really look forward to competing as a team and using my skills to assist my team with success.
I am a role model for the younger girls in my country and around the world. Whenever I return to my island Barbados, I always visit the local gyms to work with the gymnast as a means of giving back. I want them to see that perseverance seldom fails. You can become all you want to be in the face of adversary even if you are from a very small island.
I really look forward to contributing both athletically and academically to your college and being a valuable asset.
