Elizabeth Blessey '24 Recruiting Profile

I started gymnastics at the age of 2, and from then on, I knew that this was the sport for me. Over the past years, I have grown so much passion and drive for the sport and have always dreamed of becoming a college athlete. Gymnastics has given me the opportunity to become part of a team, taught me how to win and how to lose, and build friendships that will last a lifetime. This sport has seriously shaped me into the athlete and person that I am today and I am forever grateful. 

I am a student at Mandeville High School in Louisiana, so balancing gymnastics and in- person school can be challenging at times, and I have learned that both are equally as important to me. I am going strong with a 4.2 GPA. Advancing my studies is always first priority so I am looking for a school that has a program that will help me excel in my academic ability whilst achieving my athletic goals as well. 

Being a college gymnast has been a goal for me for as long as I can remember. I have had my ups and downs in this sport, as have many people, but I have fought to stay in it, stay healthy, and give it my all. To be able to get involved in my school academically, and in athletics would be such a huge honor. I strive to get into that positive college gymnastics environment with lots of energy, and a strong, loving, and hard-working team. Whether I am on the floor or just cheering my teammates on the side, it is all so gratifying and wonderful, and I could not ask for anything better. I would love to be able to train vault and beam, as well as floor the most!!

All the hours, all the days, I have spent in the gym really mean so much to me, and to be able to continue this path of hard work would be so amazing. Throughout this journey, my goal is to do what is right for myself, my family, and everyone around me, and I am hoping for the very best.I am very open and optimistic about this process, and I cannot wait to see where the future takes me!!
