As a collegiate gymnast, I aspire to be a strong contributor and team leader. Having started competitive gymnastics at age 10, I have yet to hit my peak. Through hard work and dedication, I have progressed fairly quickly through the competitive levels, but I intend to do my best gymnastics in college. My coaches will tell you I rise to the occasion and am at my best when I am challenged; I love to compete. I have consistently been voted team leader by my teammates, and I am confident that along with my hard work and dedication I will be a strong leader in college.
I am extremely dedicated to both my athletics and academics. I live in California and go to school and train in Nevada requiring me to commute daily between states. The academic and athletic opportunities in Nevada are much more rigorous which encouraged my decision to commute. Throughout high school, I have managed to keep straight As on top of a very demanding schedule. I have taken six AP classes in my sophomore and junior years, and am taking five more during my senior year.
The experience of the world's many cultures that I have gained from visiting twenty-five countries on five continents has helped inform my perspectives on my place and impact in my community, my school, my gymnastics team, and the world. I now understand the importance of service and supporting my community because everybody needs a helping hand. I know that, even on my own, I can make a difference in somebody else's life through encouragement and service. Along with experiences, I have learned that the people in my life ultimately shape who I am. As a result, I aspire to make lasting relationships with fellow students, coaches, and professors.
