Danika Berlin '27 Recruiting Profile

Hello my name is Danika,

    Gymnastics is my passion! At different USAIGC levels I've been a Team Captain, motivating and inspiring my teammates to reach for gold. My coaches look to me to lead most of the practice warm ups and I truly love doing that.  As a gymnast, I'm flexible and strong.  And my main goal with each practice is to progress.  I pretend like the next day is a competition.  

     Balancing my sport with my classwork takes some time management and planning because I take both very seriously. In fact, my grades have been all A's with just a few B+/B's in my middle school years.  For the current school year, my GPA is 3.76.  Next year, 2023-24 will be my Freshman year in High School.  I'm super excited to begin my journey toward college.  That's why even though I'm just 13 now in 8th grade, I want to learn all I can about what would be expected of me to get into an excellent school plus compete in the sport that I love. 

     Gymnastics makes me better at so many things in life.  Like when It's time to take a pop quiz, I think of what it takes to perfectly time my spin inside my Full on floor.  You have to think fast and bring all of your experience in that moment!  I also love the girls on my team now at the Diamond Level and in the past, when I was just a young 7 year old Copper 1.  No one works harder than student athletes and I'm proud to be one and hope to keep progressing and growing in my sport and in school.  My hobbies are feeding the baby chicks and growing delicious vegetables on our campus mini-farm at my school in New Jersey.  I look forward to meeting coaches on this platform and taking tips and advice along the way!
