Making Team Nova Scotia for the Canada Games has been my favorite part of my gymnastics career so far. It was a goal I had had for a very long term and not only my coaches, parents, and teammates were proud of me but most importantly I was incredibly proud of myself. However, I believe the most crucial part of my career that has brought me to the gymnast I am today was my elbow injury last year. I had dislocated my elbow exactly a year before I competed at Canada Games. Working through that injury and coming back stronger than ever really taught me what resilience and dedication meant.
I'm fortunate enough to be able to train with a former Team Canada head coach, David Kikuchi, a three-time Olympian, Ellie Black, and a bronze world medalist, Denelle Pedrick. I have the most amazing role models out there and they have really taught me what hard work means. Having such high-level gymnastics surrounding me everyday inspires me to be the best gymnast I can be.
