The reason i want to be a part of a D1 Gymnastics team is to be able to to tell myself i succeeded in life. Not necessary that i succeeded in my whole life, because there are many opportunities in life, but what i mean is that i successfully opened the first chapter of my life on a good note.My dream for as long as i can remember has been to go to UCLA on a gymnastics scholarship. But that isn’t the only reason i want to be on a gymnastics team.I show leadership,i push my teammates to be better by showing my support.Ive always believed to put your mind to anything youve ever dreamed for,and if me having to work a countless amount hours, pushing myself to be the best i can possibly be just to have a chance to be on one of your teams then so be it.Ive always had an open mind to new skills as well, ive never backed down from doing a skill “because i was scared” because when im scared it just gives me a reason to push harder to overcome that fear, even if i mess up the first time i just have to get up and try again, because thats how it is in gymnastics and in the real world. You mess up,you get back up and try again until you succeed.I want to be a role model for all the younger gymnasts out there that you can put yourself up to anything as long as you never stop working for it.That it is possible to be at the top one day.I want myself to believe that as well, and to believe that i will keep working hard until the day i reach the top,and when i reach the top i will push myself to work harder than ever.I will push and encourage my teammates now and my future teammates to be the best they can be.After 3 years of being out and just now coming back, hoping to fullfill my dream of going to UCLA on a gymnastics scholarship from years ago,its a long shot and i know that. But im willing to start from rock bottom and work my way up if thats what it takes to get to the top.Ive always worked hard for what i wanted and i will continue to have that mindset.I know i cant get into a good college without good grades,im very aware of that.Ive been working so hard these school years so i wouldnt fall behind when i start highschool in the fall,im a good student.I get my straight A’s,but occasionally my B’s here and there, but getting B’s shows me what i can work on to be a better student.I have my flaws in history and im working to no be a better student when it comes to the classes i have struggled with, but me struggling in those classes makes me want to just keep pushing to be good at those classes. But besides from gymnastics i will also be marching in the fall,I will fight for a spot on one of your teams and i will make these college recruiters proud and impresse.I hope that i have a good fit for the type of person you’re looking for.so if you just happen to stumble across this, shoot me an email or a text,it would really mean a lot to me:).
yours truly,
Giselle Santana
