My name is Bree Prediger, I am a 2026 grad year student from Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. I am a left handed defenseman and I am considered to be a power play special on the back end playing QB. I am also a shut down penalty killer who is not scared to block shots! My goal is to continue to play female hockey on a Division One hockey team in the USA. I find that my greatest strengths are my edges. I am able to move across the ice very well, and my eagle turns are bar down. I have a great hockey IQ and a great understanding of the game. I am always thinking about what to do before, during and after I have the puck. Additionally, I think that I read the ice well and I get my head up in order to move the puck fast and generate good opportunities for my teammates and myself. I also have a strong body and use it to my advantage when pinning people to the boards, angeling, and winning battles. My playing style is an offensive defenseman, whether that means jumping up in plays, or getting in the best possible position to help my teammates attack the net in the effort to score goals. I maybe a offensive defenseman but that does not take away from my defensive side. I never get on the wrong side of the enemy when protecting the net, and I am hard on the puck in order to win battles and gain possession .
I have always been an honors student from St.Mathews Catholic middle school to St.Dominics Catholic high school. I skipped a grade (7 to 8) . When I skipped a grade I kept my grades up above 80% because of my strong work ethic and dedication to get better and better, on and off the ice. I am currently attending the Notre Dame School in Red Deer Alberta (Academy - Hockey) & playing for the U18AAA Red Deer Chiefs. I am a rookie on a team mostly made up of 2006 born athletes.
Some goals that I set for myself on the ice is not only to excel my skills but also to become a better person. On the ice I wanted to accomplish generating opportunities and always pushing myself. Walking the blue line better, and making plays faster and more efficient. I find that I achieved these goals by making heads up plays, moving my feet, and lastly scanning the ice quicker. One of my goals in the 2022/2023 season was to be the best Defenseman of the year but unfortunately I was runner up for the award. Some other goals that I set for myself in the 2022/2023 season was to make Challenge cup and to be nominated to participate in the Hockey Alberta Top 40. I achieved both of these goals. Another goal i made was to make a AAA team in the year of 2023/24 and I also achieved this as I am one of only 3 rookies to make the Red Deer U18AAA Chiefs.
My last 2 years, I played in the AFHL U15AA elite league with the Red Deer Sutterfund Cheifs. I was runner up for the 2023 defenseman of the year award. I finished the regular season with 19 points, which lead me to be Top 3 defenseman in Alberta . During playoffs I finished 1st place with 4 points in 3 games (most teams played 6 games but we got a buy for the first round as for we were 2nd in our division) . I tied for 1 St place in the provincial championship for defenseman with 6 points. I am skilled at making good decisions quickly on the ice that generate scoring opportunities, that is one huge reason we were so successful on our power play.
I have played 5 years of spring hockey with the Alberta Warriors and was recently named one of the defenseman for Team WestCan. I have also competed in many Elite tournaments across North America. During the off season, I participate in many hockey camps with Colin Fraser (Retired NHL player) in order to keep excelling at my skills and to ensure that I am ready for the upcoming season. In the previous year I skated with Skate to Excel along with many other camps. I am always conditioning to become better, in order to accomplish my goal of playing Div 1 hockey.
A few goals I have set out for the 2023/2024 season is to soak in as much stuff as I can from this amazing team & to be selected for the Team Alberta development camp in the spring of 24.
Thank you for taking the time to read a little bit about me !
