Dear Coaches,
Since my first championship win, my heart set to play college hockey. At age 4, I started my first figure skating lessons. I figure skated for 3 years, until I saw my first hockey game. That's when the start of my hockey career began. Figure skating has helped my hockey with striding and skating. I not only fell in love with the game but I fell in love with the sport, the people, and the opportunities that it brings.
I've played with Jr kings, Lady ducks, Lions, California wave, and varsity for Mira Costa High School. Tournaments that I have attended include CCm Detroit World Invite, Fall Classic, MLK San Jose, TinselTown, and Pacific Districts In Anchorage,Alaska. Upcoming Tournaments include Beantown Classic. Being on a boys team was an experience that I will never forget. Although it was a good experience, I had struggles being one of the few girls on the team. In the beginning my teammates didn’t see me as one of them they saw me as just a girl. They never passed to me, they didn’t talk to me or include me. I saw this as an opportunity to show them I'm worthy of being on the team. I passed a lot, started my own conversation with them, played my heart out, and acted as a leader to my team. Finally they trusted me and started to include me, talk to me, and help me with my skills.
Camps I have participated in include BU girls hockey camp, Multi-district girls select camp, and Shattuck St Marys. This year I'm attending Notre Dame CCM select camp, Rink sport, and Shattuck St marys.
I'm a self driven athlete/student with multiple goals. Academically, I work hard to achieve my grades and have a good reputation. I have great worth ethic on and off the ice, one of my skills is my speed. I try my best to communicate with everyone and to keep a positive attitude. I always try to be the first one in on the forecheck and first on the backcheck. I always listen and pay attention to the game very carefully and work extra hard to improve on my game/skills.
A quote that has me motivated is “ You never lose, you either win or you learn” -Nelson Mandela
