If you told me four years ago I would be playing hockey, I would have laughed. I grew up being the hockey sister not the hockey player. Everyone always told me to play hockey. As a figure skater I strongly disagreed. I was taught that hockey was the dark side. I have figure skated since I was 4 and no way I was leaving that for hockey. At age ten I was finally convinced and I gave hockey a try. I fell in love with it. The girls were so welcoming and kind. I instantly felt at home. It was an easy transition because of figure skating. I started playing hockey later than the other girls but I was determined to get better. Slowly, I started drifting away from figure skating and dance to focus on hockey. I eventually quit dance and only figure skate once a week. Hockey became my passion. I was determined to get better, I went from rec to AA within two years. Even though I have only been playing for four years. It is my goal to continue to get better and strive to play at the collegiate level.
