I started hockey when I was really little and I wasn't always a goalie even though I immediately loved the position. Through the years of playing goalie I have come to realize that I am very committed to this sport because I always want to be better than I already am. I've also noticed especially after this past year playing on Aspen AA and as back up for my high school team, I wanted to get the starting position and I have been working really hard on it. The biggest challenge in hockey that I have experienced was my freshman year when I felt burned out playing hockey on 4 teams and it affected my grades in school. However, last year it was much better and I have grown back into the position that I love.
My goals for both high school and college is to obviously get good grades but to learn more about myself and what job would fit really well with me. I would love to play Division 3 hockey in college so I can balance athletics with academics and continue devotion to high level play.
My family is bunch of river runners and my dad owns a rafting company where I work during the summer. This has improved my confidence when talking to people and when running the rapids. Training on the river has also improved my quick decision making skills.
