I laced up my first skates at the age of four in hopes to play hockey just like my older cousin and Uncle. I did it with excitement and eagerness as the first girl in our family to play. The feeling of gliding across the ice, connecting with new friends and their families as well as experiencing the adrenaline of the game fueled my passion. This passion has only grown stronger over the years as I balance this love of hockey alongside of playing softball and being committed to academic excellence.
Competitively playing both hockey and softball over the years has taught me discipline and how to embrace challenges at high levels. Whether I am on the ice or the field, I thrive on the camaraderie built through teamwork and shared goals. These experiences have taught me so many invaluable lessons in perseverance, resilience and importance of structure which are qualities that have shaped me as an athlete and excelling student.
As I look forward, I am eager to continue my athletic journey in college, where I aspire to play women’s ice hockey. With my ambitions expanding beyond the rink, I am driven to pursue a career in health sciences, inspired by my family’s legacy in this field. With relatives who are doctors, nurses, physical therapists and athletic trainers, I’ve seen firsthand the impact that healthcare professionals make on athletes like myself. I want to contribute to a field of helping others maintain their best shape and physical fitness so they too can excel in sports like I have.
I would like to note that I have and will continue to push myself to achieve my best. I was a proud member of the National Junior Honor Society in intermediate school and currently held High Honors for all four quarters of my freshman year in high school. My dedication to my studies is just as strong as my dedication to sports. I welcome the challenge of both academics and sports in my journey through college.
Being an athlete and playing sports is an integral part of my life and I have learned the value of hard work, teamwork, and being coachable to be my best. I am excited to continue lacing up my skates and bring my passion and academic prowess to further my dreams in helping others and competing as a woman in the best sport I’m so proud to be a part of .
