I've been asked the performant question "What do you want to be when you're older" more times than I can count. I've had the same answer since I was 5 years old, being a hockey player. As years go by and as each hockey season ends, I grow a greater passion and dedication to the game. Many coaches and my family have taught me over the years that it's important to not only be hockey players but also good people and allow yourself to strive to be better every day on and off the ice. I have a story that adds to the deepness of my personality and wears my heart on my sleeve. This has shaped me into who I am and my passion for learning about psychology or sociology in my college/university experience. I go to a self-directed school called Bishop Carroll High School, time management and organization is an important skills that I am acquiring that will also lead to my post-secondary experience. I take great pride in my academics as I know it play a crucial role in moving to the next level. For the field of interest I chose in my academics I strive to excel in.
What sets me apart from other athletes is that my Dad passed away at 15, which made me grow up a little quicker than most. It gives me the mindset and motivation to not take a day for granted and to be grateful for the blessings in life big or small. A work ethic like a workhorse and am hungry for success as much as I want to breathe. I am grateful for what I've gone through and the relationships I've gained to get me to where I am today, to continue what I've learned day by day, and I hope to continue my journey in what looks like a bright future ahead!
