When I was three I told my Mom I wanted to play hockey. My Dad had a friend who coached with Brewer Youth Hockey. I started learn to play when I was 5 and have been playing almost year round since. My parents ask me every year if I want to keep playing because once I start a season I can't quit on my team.
One thing I have learned while playing hockey is that I get really invested in my team on and off the ice. I want what is best for everyone and I will give my all on the ice, but I expect their all in return. As an 8th grader I want to maintain my grades in accelerated classes.
At the high school I want to attend the Humanities Academy. I want a good school known for its academics as well as its athletics. As a girl that has only ever played Co-Ed hockey I have had to work really hard every year to prove to my teammates that I can play and skate just as well if not better than some of the others on my team. I want to make it easier for girls to play hockey and be respected on and off the ice because of it.
