My name is Jordy Wyant, I am in grade 12 and I’m currently playing for The Rink Hockey Academy (RHA) in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; who competes in the CSSHL (Female Prep U18).
I am a versatile player who can play both as a forward (centre and wing) and defence; over the past 1.5 seasons I have focused almost exclusively on playing D. As a defender, I aggressively move bodies from in front of the net to help my goalies; using my hockey knowledge and IQ, I engage offensively in plays and intercept passes. My strongest asset is my speed, I am quick on my feet which helps me on blue line plays and transitioning to offence/defence. I like to play a physical game and have been told I take good angles and have an active stick that causes many turnovers.
My current goals in the classroom are to be an honours student during all four years of high school. I have accomplished this goal for the past three years, and am on track for Grade 12. After high school, my plan to enroll in a post-secondary law program, with the goal of becoming a criminal prosecutor. This is my number one goal when it comes to my education, and I take it very seriously.
