Personal Statement

As a junior entering my fourth year playing Varsity hockey, I am working hard to earn the opportunity to play hockey at the college level. For Club hockey, I am the sole goalie on the NS Wings Red U19 team (hybrid 1/2, nt'l bound team). I have a save percentage of 94.3% as a first-year U19, with four shut-outs (GAA of 1.67). As the starting goalie at NMH as sophomore, I saw 30-60 shots per game against some of the top shooters at the high school level. I ended the season with a save percentage of 89%, an All-Conference (Vaillancourt Conference) and All-League (NEPSAC) Honorable Mention, and the 10th best SAA% in NEPSAC conference in my first year starting in goal.  For goalie training, I get lessons at the Ed Walsh Goaltending School (Ed Walsh / Cam Walsh) year round and they have coached me for the past five years. As I look at colleges, academics are a top priority for me and my GPA is 3.96/4.0 with High Honors. In high school, Civics and Honors Spanish are my favorite subjects and I hope to study History and Ancient Civilizations in college.  At school, I play volleyball (Captain of Thirds, and Coaches Award Winner) and lacrosse (Varsity, Goalie).  At NMH, I serve as a Tour Guide and Residence Leader. I look forward to continuing to put in the hard work it takes to grow as a student and a goalie in the coming years. I love the intensity of being a goalie and the focus it takes to lead a team from the net.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
