My name is Hailey Stanius, I currently live in Forest Lake, Minnesota, and play hockey for the Forest Lake Girls High School varsity team. I was selected as the team captain for the 2022-2023 season! Ever since I was little I have dreamed about playing hockey at the collegiate level. I see what it takes and how hard you have to work to get to the collegiate level and to stay there. I have a great work ethic and take pride in working to improve my game. I am a very smart stay at home defenseman with the ability to move the puck out of the zone very well. I typically do not have eye popping stats but my +/- is consistently among the top of my team. For me, preventing a goal can just be as rewarding as scoring one!
I am a very coachable player and always want to hear what I can improve on. No matter if it’s big or little I will always work to better myself and the team. I am a very outgoing and supportive teammate both on and off the ice. I love seeing my teammates achieve the goals they set for themselves and helping them get there. I love the team environment, it’s something like no other I’ve ever experienced.
I have been playing hockey since I was very little. We have a pond in our backyard that I have spent a lot of time on. With the help of my Dad, I learned how to skate when I was very young and have had a hockey stick in my hands while I am on the ice ever since. My family means the world to me and knowing they are here to support me means everything.
I understand the importance of good grades and the role an education will play in my life as I move on to college and beyond. I am very committed to my academics and strive to keep a high GPA. I am an “A” average student and plan to keep working hard to maintain that.
Overall, I am a very hard worker on and off the ice and very positive influence to my teammates and others around me. I fell in love with this sport and getting the opportunity to keep playing hockey at a higher level would be amazing. If you have any questions feel free to reach out!
