Kristin Drechsel '13 Recruiting Profile

I am a 5ft 8in, 180 lbs. forward from Moorhead, Minnesota. I am currently a sophomore and have played varsity hockey for 3 years. I was a starter on the varsity team as an 8th grader. I was the leading scorer as a sophomore. This year I was selected to play in the Minnesota section 8 all-star game. I have been playing for thirteen years and have been skating pretty much since I could walk. I am a very outgoing person with a positive attitude who loves to be around other people. I have not been captain but I hope to be my senior year. I think I can lead a team because I never give up and always give 110%, no matter what. I love to be the first one on the ice and the last one off, just so I can get that extra ice time. I am an unselfish player, who always tries to find my open teammate. My coach always said, "Offense wins games, and defense wins championships." I think I am a pretty strong defensive player. I always back-check hard and get on the open player in the defensive zone. It has been my dream, ever since I was a rookie, to play college hockey. For me, at the moment my number one goal is to play hockey in college. I honestly don't think I could function without it. If college hockey does become part of my future, I would love to play my freshmen year at the highest competition level possible for me. I don't have a specific place that I would like to go to college, but I would prefer somewhere in the Midwest. I hope to someday make my dreams come true.
