Hockey has been a huge part of my life for some time now. My greatest takeaway from the game of hockey is that you achieve success when you take time to put work in. This sport has taught me how to have great work ethic skills that have not only show on the ice but carry over into the classroom.
Every time I step onto the ice, I know it's game time, which is the type of mindset I always make sure to carry. I also am the type of person that believes that challenging yourself will only benefit you in the long run. For example, at school I make sure to enroll myself into classes that, yes, will stress me out and push my limits, but will ultimately make me more successful in the future. I also try to challenge myself when it comes to being in more than one sport. Currently I am a soccer player as well. I believe that being a multi-sport athlete contributes to a well-rounded athlete. I also have run track in the past and have received the all conference award for my events.
All in all, when I look into the future, I aspire to continue my dream of playing the game of hockey for as long as I can. It is truly where I find my happiness and where I have derived some of my most important skills as a person as well as on the ice. I will continue to push myself with the help of my teammates and coaches so that I can become the best player that I can.
