Committed-Franklin Pierce University
Hi, my name is Casey Coffey and I live in Hudson, WI. I am a junior captain and defensemen this year at Cretin-Derham Hall High School in Minnesota. I have played varsity hockey in MN the last three seasons. During my 8th grade year I played with Team WI before and after the high school season. After my freshman year, I played for the Minnesota Jr. Whitecaps and our team competed in the U16 2021 NAHA tournament in Vermont. I played on the MSP Red team in the Upper Midwest MN High School Elite League in the fall of 2021 and spring of 2022. During that fall, my MSP Red team was the NIT champions in our division. This past summer I participated in all of the OS Prospect tournaments and Jr. Whitecaps spring and summer on-ice training through OS hockey. This past fall I played in the Upper Midwest MN High School Elite League again on team Streamline Design.
I have always been known as a very hard worker on the ice. I believe my strengths on the ice are a high hockey IQ, a defensemen who moves the puck well up the ice with speed and strong shots from the point.
I work just as hard during off-ice training as I do for on ice training. I take off-ice training very seriously to better prepare myself for my practices and games.
My parents have also stressed the importance of working just as hard in the classroom. I currently have a 3.85 GPA (unweighted) at the private high-school I attend. I believe working hard in the classroom will allow me to be a better leader on and off the ice as a student athlete.
My ultimate goal is to play high level college hockey while receiving an excellent education.
