I am from a hockey family in which all of us—including my parents—have played and nearly everyone has been a USA Hockey Official. However, I am the first in my family to compete at Tier 1 and am also the first to earn the Level 4 Officiating Certification.
I have played for the St. Louis AAA Blues Girls club team for the last five years. I play left and right defense, have a right-handed shot, and am first line on penalty kills. I am 5’7, 160 lbs. and squat 230 lbs. My coaches have told me my best qualities are my hockey IQ, supporting my partner, speed, and physical strength, especially battling larger opponents in front of the net.
This last year has been a period of personal growth. During the COVID-19 lockdown, I focused on cardio, strength training, and nutrition to increase my on-ice speed. When games resumed, I was offered opportunities to step up my offensive capabilities on power plays in addition to being first line on penalty kills. I enjoy the teamwork and preparation leading up to games and feel I am cooperative and coachable.
I work hard in school to excel in advanced classes and have a 4.1 GPA. After school I manage my time so I can fit in Marching Band, Girl Scouts, National Honor Society/volunteering, tutoring, cooking and housework, and hockey practices/travel. I became a registered Pharmacy Technician in spring 2021 and work 10-15 hours/week during the school year.
I will start college in the fall of 2022 and want to enter a Chemistry and/or Doctor of Pharmacy program in any state. I am excited about the prospect of also playing on a competitive hockey team!
