Ever since I was born I was constantly in a rink. My older brother was my role model. I watched him in net and I knew that was the position that I wanted to be in as well. I paid close attention to what he was doing and began to mimic his movements. When I was two I began my learn to skate lessons. My goal was to be just like him. I began goalie lessons very young and immediately fell in love with the position. I was always looking for a team that needed a goalie. I continue to strive to be the best both on and off the ice. I know that although some athletes are born with skill it is there drive and determination that set them apart from others. When I am not on the ice or working on my studies I am making sure that I am watching goalie videos or doing drills to make me both faster and more agile. Between footwork drills, ball drills, stretching and running with a parachute I change up my routine to incorporate everything. It has always been my dream to play at a collegiate level. I really settled down academically when I found my home at Brewster Academy. In all honestly my grades up until then were not great. When I began to feel like I belonged I really started to blossom academically. I now consider myself a student athlete instead of just an athlete. I know that academics come first and Brewster has really shown me that I am capable of anything.
