Greetings Coaches,
My name is Alexis Sampson and I believe that I am a great choice for any college hockey team. I can adjust well to any position I am given whether it be forward, center or defense as I have experience in every one. However, I prefer any forward position as that's what I've practiced largely in my last few years in high school. I am a team player and respond well to any efforts of play making on the ice. I use my head while I play, but at the same time, I am able to make quick responses and can get very rough in the corners when fighting for the puck. I am a quick skater and always try to give it my all, all the time, no matter what the scoreboard says.
While I am from North Dakota, it doesn't mean I play stereotypical North Dakotan hockey and shouldn't be disregarded because of that. I understand the plays and ice, knowing everyone's role, but also being able to adjust to any complications. This means I am a great team mate to work with. Off the ice, I am also a kind, trustworthy teammate, I never get catty about my teammates and I will always have their back.
Academically, I do very well in school with an average 3.8 GPA. Compared to my hockey, I strive just as hard as in school. I have many options open for my choice in career, but currently I am thinking about going into the medical field.
In my last year of high school hockey as a junior, I did particularity well. I was at the top of my team as far as points go and got in 4th place within the state scoring leaders. Over the course of the year, I accumulated a total of 41 points with 22 assists and 19 goals. I believe this shows my flexibility in team playing and my individual skill.
Hockey is my passion. From the exciting games to the great people I meet, I love it very much.
Thank you for reading my statement, I hope you take me into consideration,
-Alexis Sampson
