I love sports and I give everything I have to them. I became interested in hockey while watching my big brother play, and started with learning to skate before learning to play when I was 4 years old. I thrive in an environment where expectations and accountability are high and where I am surrounded by people that love hockey as much as I do and we push one another to be better players and people.
I give credit to the lessons I learned through sports like working hard, being present and coachable, facing challenge and adversity, and learning to celebrate my teammates success above my own. As a player I pride myself on my skating, being a good supportive teammate, having a high IQ, knowing my responsibilities while being coachable and learning quickly.
I play other sports through the seasons, but I always find time to improve my skating even if it’s once a week over the summer. This summer I will be playing club lacrosse, continue strength and conditioning at DSC, and compete in some hockey events with Premier Performance Hockey. I also hope to continue playing volleyball in the fall with my middle school team.
I am also very passionate about giving back through the game and I volunteer for the Columbus Blades (Sled Hockey) and the CCYHA Special Hockey program that I have been involved with for many years now. Helping kids is something that I try to do as much as I can. Seeing how excited they are when I am there is something that can’t be replaced.
The 22-23 season is the first year for Tier 1 U14 girls for (OBJ) Ohio Bluejackets. I love Columbus, OH and always wanted to support the growth of the girls game here it’s something I am proud to be a part of and will look back and be able to say I supported that for girls younger than me. My parents have influenced me as much as numerous coaches in every sport I have played. They taught me to listen, be respectful to teammates, coaches, teachers and be kind to others. At this point I am not entirely sure what I want to study, but I look forward to playing hockey in college one day while furthering my education.
