I have had many high points in my career, such as receiving the captaincy three out of the last four seasons and participating in the MidAm districts. But, I have also had some low points in my career. I have endured and recovered from multiple injuries that took me out of play for a good portion of multiple seasons. I also have experienced rejection from a few teams that I dreamed of playing for in the last couple years. All of these situations, however, have helped me become a better player in retrospect.
Playing over the years has definitely made me a better person in many ways. I am a team player on and off the ice because of this sport. Putting 100% effort into training, as well as my school work, has also been a result to playing hockey. I intend to keep my 4.0 GPA throughout high school because academics are extremely important to me. I am determined to take all honors, AP, and CCP classes so that I can to gain college credit.
I am looking for a program that provides me with high level academics, a sophisticated Forensic Science or Biology program, and a skilled hockey program in college. I aim to play at the Division III level or Division I club. I work well along the boards, I have speed, and I can set up good plays. I am always aware and alert on the ice, knowing when to change my position or cover for one of my line mates when needed. I also have good leadership skills and am very mature for my age; I’ve been able to work with and experience all different types of teams, which has prepared me to become the leader I am. I have also played under many different styles of coaching which I believe makes me valuable since I can adapt quickly to any environment.
I think that I am different from other recruits because I have been pushed to the side and ignored many times in the past. Many people believe my dream of playing college level hockey is no more than a fantasy because I am a female or because I am not a mini Crosby, but I am determined to prove them wrong. I believe I have the talent, work ethic, character, and leadership to compete at the college level. I can make a big impact on your program!
