Jade McNicol '25 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jade McNicol and last season I was an assistant captain centre for the Hamilton Hawks U18AA team. This coming 24/25 season I am playing on Mississauga Hurricanes U18AA. As a centre, I have been told by many coaches that my biggest strengths are my speed, my ability to see the ice and always knowing when to make the pass, forechecking, backchecking, puck protection and strong positional play. I am a team player and will always look for the right pass, that is why every year I have lead my team in assists. There is nothing I love more than making the perfect pass that leads to a beautiful goal. I am striving to play high level hockey in University while earning a medical degree. I currenlty have an average of 93% and have been on the honour roll since middle school. I played rep soccer until I was 11 and then I moved over to play rep lacrosse. During the school year I play field hockey, girls hockey, boys jr hockey and baseball. This past year I was honoured with the role of captain for girls hockey and baseball. In Grade 8, I received the Athletic Award. In Grade 9, I received the Field Hockey award and Baseball MVP. In Grade 10 I was awarded Jr Hockey MVP for both the girls and the boys teams as well as Jr Athlete of the Year for all of my school. I am very confident and love to take on a leadership role. Sports are a huge passion for me but my love definitely lies with hockey. I maintain a workout during the off season as well as working on stick handling and continual practice of all my different shots.

Outside of organized sports, I also love to snowboard in my free time.
