My name is Sophia Odermatt, and I hold dual citizenship in Japan and Switzerland. I am a 2006-born athlete and a 2025 high school graduate.
I have proudly represented Japan in international hockey competitions, including the U18 World Championship (Top Division) in 2023 and the U18 World Championship (Division 1) in 2024. Recognized as a future national team prospect by the Japan Olympic Committee, I am deeply committed to continuing my development and competing at the highest levels of the sport.
I play center, where I bring speed, hockey intelligence, and skilled puck handling to the ice. While I may be smaller in stature compared to some players, I excel at leveraging my edge work to navigate battles effectively and find open ice. I am also a highly physical player, unafraid to engage in tough situations and assert my presence in all zones.
My ultimate goal is to compete in NCAA Division I college hockey, where I can challenge myself against elite competition and further prepare for international play.
