Hello coaches! My name is Courtney McCoy and I am a grade 12 student looking to play hockey at a higher level after my high school career comes to an end. I am from a small town in Canada and enjoy the aspect of that but wouldn't mind going to school in a larger area to peruse my academic and hockey career at a college level.
For me I have been skating my whole life, I first started in figure skating but was the only girl still doing it in hockey skates. I begged my Mom to put me in hockey up until the age of ten, when she finally did that is when my love for the game began. Hockey has taught me discipline, perseverance, and the importance of working together towards one common goal. I enjoy working on my fitness in hopes to improve my game as well as my mental health. I have also played golf for the 3 years I was able to due to COVID-19 with my high school team and went to OFSAA this year.
I am a very coach-able player with the ability to adapt to any situation I am put in, and have always found a way to click when playing with new teams. I look forward to playing hockey at a higher level and will continue to improve my game when I do so.
