Dear Coaches,
I am passionate about playing hockey at the highest level possible. Hockey has taught me to set goals and then to use focus and determination in applying myself to reach them. Hockey has also taught me that solid preparation provides confidence, and that striving to learn and improve requires constant curiosity and humility. I apply the same approaches to school, where I would ultimately like to pursue an undergraduate degree in animal science, preferably with a specialization in equine biology and management. My teammates consider me an enthusiastic team supporter with an upbeat, positive attitude. My current stats are among the best in the 26 team Ontario Women's Hockey Association U22 Elite Division, with a GAA of 1.38 and a Save% of 0.95 over this season so far. Recently, I had the honor of being one of two 2006 goalies selected by the OWHA (the provincial sport body for women's hockey) to practice in an elite development opportunity with Team Ontario before the team went to the Canada Winter games. Ultimately, my personal approach to both hockey and school is to go into each game or assignment focused on the things that I can control in order to achieve my personal best each time.
