Sophie Dubois '24 Recruiting Profile

Hello my name is Sophie Dubois. I am a 2024 graduate from Lakeshore, Ontario, Canada, currently studying Biochemistry at the University of Windsor. I am open to a change in schooling. I've been playing hockey since the young age of 3 and have always had a passion for the game of hockey, whether it was to play or to watch. 

On the ice, I have developed a good hockey sense. I am able to predict plays that enable me to react in order to cause a turnover giving our team possession. I am a heads up player who sees the ice very well, which allows me to make passes to further the team's success. I am a two way player, effective on the offense or defense.  Whether we are on the forecheck or the backcheck I will work my hardest. I love to compete. My entire life I have given 100%, working to earn my way from House League to where I am now, playing u19 Canadian Prep hockey. I've learned so many skills over these many years from various coaches who have developed me to the dynamic team player I am today. Off the ice, I enjoy the personal relationships with my teammates and am very caring and empathetic towards them as if they were family. I am a very coachable player by openly accepting criticism and reflecting on my role with the team on a constant basis.

My academics are just as important to me as my athletics. As with my athletic pursuits I am dedicated to learning as much as I can in my course work and have received several academic accolades over the years for my achievements.  With pride I have accepted my place within the French Canadian community. My entire schooling has been in a French language school and I have graduated with a bilingual diploma in French and English. Ever since my first science class, I've fallen in love with chemistry and biology. Since then, it has been my dream to pursue a career within these domains. I aspire to find the best school to help me pursue this dream.
