Since I was a little kid, hockey has been essential to my life. My older brother started playing hockey at 11, and after watching him play, I knew this was the sport for me. I enjoy the speed and skill, and I've learned that you can't just rely on being able to stick handle; you have to be tough and be physically able to push through defenders while protecting
the puck.
A well-rounded player must be a player 24/7, eating right, getting the proper rest and being focused on training, not just on the ice but off the ice.
My first year playing up was with A21 Academy, where I played with U19 while I was 13, and it was the best experience of my life.
I was driven to push myself to keep up, and I could score goals because great players surrounded me.
As much as I love hockey, I want my future to be complete with an excellent education. I aim to play at a Division I school where I can play hockey competitively and get an education to fulfill my goal of becoming a Doctor.
I am prepared to work hard; I train year-round on ice and off with my coach outside my Ste. Cecile team, I am fortunate to train with Matt Maggio during the summer. We work on skills, fitness and working out.
