My name is Ellery Johns, an impact player who is highly competitive and driven. I think of myself as a multi-dimensional, aggressive defenseman who can adapt my style to fit multiple systems. I thrive in high pressure situations and enjoy the intense environment surrounding every game. I have an unmatched work ethic which is a critical reason I have become a strong, highly skilled player.
My coaches and teammates describe me as being a positive, high energy and encouraging player who not only strives to improve my game but that of my teammates. My coaches would also say my game energy and intensity are contagious and have helped to change the trajectory of many games. My versatility and ability to succeed under pressure is evident in my game. Having the experience of being a multi-sport athlete my whole life has prepared me for the demands that come with competing at the highest level.
My goal is to compete at the Division 1 level while also receiving a high quality education. I want to compete against and with the best there is in college hockey. I strive to be an inspiring teammate, player, and person on and off the ice. I value the people around me and regard my team like family.
