I would like to continue playing hockey after high school at the post-secondary level because I truly love the sport. I started playing hockey in 2010. During my early years I played with the Melfort Minor Hockey Association. Once in PeeWee (U13) I played in Kinistino for the boys' team. For my second year of PeeWee (U13) I was selected to play for the Melfort PeeWee AA Mustangs boys' team. Following that year I was selected to play for the Prince Albert AA Foxes (U15 AA) team in the inaugural year of the Saskatchewan Female U15 AA Hockey League. We were about to play for the championship when COVID-19 shortened the playoff run. The following year I returned to Prince Albert for the shortened season due to COVID-19. Following U15 AA hockey I decided to stay at home and play for my home town North East AA Aces in the Sask Female U18 AA hockey league. This has permitted me to live at home, excel academically, and play a multitude of high school sports. The past three years I have competed in SHSAA Provincial Championships in Volleyball, Golf, and Track & Field. I believe it is important to play multiple sports and experience many different athletic ventures..
I have also been involved in spring hockey. I started with the U9 Saskatoon Huskies, then moved to the U11 Saskatoon AAA Excel for two years. Prince Albert started a program and I took advantage of being closer to home and played the final two years with the Foxes AAA in the U 13 division. During my club career, numerous medals were won and friendships made.
I pride myself on my work ethic on and off the ice. I challenge myself with face-off skills, strong defence first and going to the net hard. I find that opponents do not enjoy playing against me.
I have been actively involved in sports my entire life. I played hockey for twelve years, speed swam for two years, competitively wake-boarded for four years, started track and cross-country running, badminton, curling, golf and volleyball in grade 7. The highlight of my athletic career thus far was winning the Gold Medal at the Canadian National Wakeboard Championships for Jr. Girls in 2016.
Besides playing hockey and school sports competitively, I fill my time with a part-time job at the Northern Lights Palace Pool. During the off season in the summer, my time consists of wake-boarding, surfing and playing golf. Lastly, it is my goal to continue my hockey career at the collegiate level while studying post-secondary education.
