Sophia Gannon '25 Recruiting Profile

My name is Sophia Gannon, I am graduating high school in 2025, and I played for the St. Louis Lady Cyclones 19U Elite AA team and the Nashville Wolverines Single A 19U team. I have always watched hockey growing up, but because I live in Memphis, I never thought that playing was ever possible. Once we found a rink, I began to play hockey when I was twelve years old, and have continued to catch up to and surpass my peers both locally and out of state. I attend St. Benedict at Auburndale High School in Cordova, TN. I have a 3.64 GPA and I pride myself in sport and my grades.  

I have never let where I live determine where my development goes. Since I was fourteen, I have been traveling to other cities such as Nashville, Chicago, and St. Louis for training and ice time. I am a highly coachable player who is attentive and willing to listen and learn. I love to score and I have an accurate and hard shot. I also am an excellent passer who can put pucks on my teammates' sticks. I love to kill penalties and drive the net hard. I am a versatile player in the lineup, as I have played in almost every situation. While we had no named captains, I was a leader on the Wolverines this year, with my coach trusting me in different positions. In the 2023-24 season, I led the team in goals and points, with eight goals in 24 games in our first year as an organization. With the Cyclones, I scored one goal and had three assists in 24 games. I was well-liked by my coaches and enjoyed playing with the team.
