I started skating when I was 4 years old and started playing hockey at 6 years old. I knew then that hockey was something I wanted to be part of for the rest of my life. I have played in a lot of G4H programs through a few years and recently joined a split-season team to Canada and Malone and a once a week co-ed game for Jr. Catamounts. I started playing in club teams right after freshman year, including playing against New England, New York, and Canada teams.
Hockey is a passion of mine and I am driven to keep getting better at my skills to be able to play in college. I am a stay-at-home defensemen and strongly protect my goalie and teammates. I work once a week with professional coaches as well as practice my shot and stick-handling moves at home. I go to the rink every time I can to be able to practice skating and stick handling techniques. Every time I get beat in a game or practice, I choose that to be a learning opportunity to grow to make me more confident on the ice. I play hockey to get my mind off of anxiety-enducing stress to help my mental health. Although it is tough for me to speak in front of large groups, I am mouch more confident on the ice and can be myself when playing the sport I love.
I push myself to get the best grades to my ability and my GPA is currently 3.51.
