I began playing hockey nine years ago, in 2007. Ever since I stepped on the ice to learn how to play hockey, I have loved every minute of it. I played with the boys up until the 2011-12 season when I joined a U14 tier II girls team. That season was when I realized that my dream was to play NCAA women's hockey. The next season on that same team I earned an assistant captain role. I played for the Colorado Select U14 tier II team the year after. The 2014-15 season I played for a U19 tier II girls team in Utah as a freshman in high school. I grew as a player and I helped my team to the National Championship tournament. Being at the National Tournament made me realize that I can play at the next level. Last year, 2015-16, I played for the Girls Madison Capitols U16 tier I team. I believe that this was the year where I grew the most. I learned to play at the highest level in the country and to compete with the girls at this level. It was eye opening for me and I loved every minute of it. This upcoming year (2016-2017) I will be playing for the Rice Memorial Prep Girls hockey team in Burlington, Vermont. I am looking very forward to my season.
Outside of hockey I am a hard working student as well as a multi- sport athlete. As well as hockey, I run cross country and track and field. Being a runner, I have learned the power of mental strength. My freshman year of cross country I helped lead my team to the Utah State Meet. After that season I earned a varsity letter as well as the "Best Newcomer" award. I average a 3.88 GPA as well as being on the honor role every quarter. I take three honors class and one AP class. With challenging classes, playing for a very competitive hockey team, and being a competitive runner, I have learned to manage my time very well.
I am willing to make sacrifices for my future. I will work my very hardest on and off the ice as well as in school to achieve my goals of playing NCAA women's ice hockey.
